Sergio Alvares is a Business Valuation and Investment Banking Analyst at BaldwinClarke. Prior to joining the firm, he worked in business consulting with a focus on business ownership transitions, valuations, and M&A involving privately held businesses. His earlier experience includes serving as a Senior Associate at JPMorgan Chase and co-founding a private business in Switzerland, where he oversaw financial operations.
Sergio holds the Certified Valuation Analyst® (CVA®) designation from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA), having met rigorous requirements in education, experience, and examination. He earned an MBA in Finance and a Master’s in Business Analytics and Information Management from the University of Delaware, as well as a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Switzerland.
At BaldwinClarke, Sergio specializes in the valuation of fractional and controlling interests in closely held companies for legal, financial, and transactional purposes. He manages all phases of the valuation process, including data collection, financial and industry analysis, application of valuation methodologies, and report development.
His valuation work supports a variety of purposes such as estate and gift tax planning, shareholder buyouts, business sales, recapitalizations, Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs), succession planning, and broader financial planning. Sergio has experience working across a wide range of industries, including precision manufacturing, food retail and wholesale, investment management, real estate, construction services, transportation, and technology.
